ACE Board Meeting Minutes
June 10th, 2008
Williams Center For the Arts- Rm. 108
Board Members Present: C. D. Howell, C. Georgiou, M. Legath, P. LaDuca,
B.Thena, A. Kwiatkowski, P. Johnson, B. Gourniak
Board Members Absent: M. Riker
Elected Officers Present: A.Marraccini- ACE President
Meeting called to order at 06:10 PM
General discussion of corrections to be made to the minutes and discussion related
properly identifying those listed on the minutes according to their role.
Motion by B. Thena to accept the board meeting minutes from May 13th, 2008. Seconded by B. Gourniak- motion passed.
Treasurer’s Report- Account balances as of May 31st 2008
Checking- $2,950.09
Savings- $8,106.27
Scholarship- $3,644.54
Discussion related to members of the Finance Committee arranging a discussion
with M. Tanzella regarding the issue of outstanding taxes.
No other Officer’s Reports at this time
River Rites Report-
B. Thena reviewed typed report given to all board members present as well as elected officers present. Thanks expressed to C. Georgiou for assisting with the paper as well as B. Rich for assisting with the web site. Festival is on track to meet expenses and possibly contribute to ACE as a fundraising event.
Riverside Festival of the Arts Report-
P. LaDuca informed the Board that donations have been coming in, some made out to ACE others to RFA. Applications and Prosepcti have gone out in the mail
in addition to a letter being drafted to ask the City Clerk to release funds that have been pledged in advance to the festival. An additional $1,500.00 is to come from the Cultural Arts Committee. Next meeting will be June 17th, 7:30Pm at Connexions Gallery.
Scholarship Committee Report-
Anticipate that a minimum of three scholarship applications will be received
with in the next few weeks. Will discuss process further upon receipt of
applications.
Exhibition Committee Report-
Arts Tour Group Exhibition at the State Theatre- due to budgetary and insurance issues, the State Theatre will need to provide two security guards at a cost to ACE of $522.00. Light discussion of rational for expense. Motion By C.D. Howell to pay the expense, seconded by B. Thena – Motion passed
Estimate received to purchase a new ACE banner for the Framers Market tent-
Expense already approved by the Board. Expense estimate is lower than anticipated at $100.00
Miscellaneous-
B. Gourniak brought to the Boards attention an issue of artists receiving tickets
while being at the ACE tent at the Farmers Market. A. Marraccini expressed that he would speak with representatives at the Framers Market to secure a parking pass. Motion made by B.Then to pay the parking ticket received, seconded by A. Kwiatkowski- Motion passsed.
